About

Destiny Art Glass, owned by Iona Beaulieu Wheatley of Vancouver Island, Canada, features handcrafted glass jewelry and ornaments – designed, fired, and crafted, for the most part, in our Campbell River studio. These beautifully crafted glass treasures make wonderful gifts and decorative accents.

In recognition of the owner's Cree, Chippewan, and French roots in Fort Resolution, Hay River, and Yellow Knife in Canada's Northwest Territories, Destiny Art Glass now also offers Métis themed merchandise, such as mugs, sashes, and shawls. Our supplier is a Métis owned business in Winnipeg.

Francois Beaulieu – our grandfather, was the son of Jacques Beaulieu and a indigenous woman of the Montagnais Cree. He was the patriarch of the first Metis family in the Athabasca area. Francois was one of the Metis in the party that accompanied Alexander McKenzie down the river to the Arctic Ocean in 1789, and then overland to the Pacific in 1793.

Christy's unique bags and totes.

Hi, my name is Christy, and I’m very excited to share my handmade bags with you.

Raised on Vancouver Island , BC, I fell in love with the outdoors and chose to make a life in Campbell River with my husband, and our two wonderful children.

When I’m not in my craft room, you can find me out enjoying nature in the garden, running the trails, hiking a mountain or walking our family dog.

Ever since I was little I loved to create and make things with my hands. My love for crafting has evolved from a hobby to a small business adventure.

It all started when my son was in need of a bag for his sports gear. Eager to try something new, I pulled out my sewing machine, and I was hooked!

I enjoy creating bags for everyday use. Whether it be a small make up bag, or a large shopping tote, I hope you find the perfect bag for your needs!
